Introduction
Commit Warning Checker is a small Eclipse plugin that helps you see what warnings you are about to commit to Subversion repository. It is as simple as that. You have to look thought all files that Commit Warning Checker list to be sure not to accidentally commit some files that contains warnings to repository.Brief history
In project I work on, we have a lot of warnings. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. Things gets complicated when you know you shouldn't just fix warnings as you wish because it will increment the size of the patch. So we got to keep trying and watch that every committed file is committed with reason and, when you are already going to commit it, to fix warnings found in it.
I personally hate warnings (as every good programmer should). I hate every little unused import, I despise every forgotten serialVersionUID, I spit on every local variable not being read, I hope everyone that is using deprecated methods die in horrible pains (you get the picture). But more then warnings, I hate when I caught some of my colleagues or even me not to clean warnings on committed class. It pisses me off. It happens, there is no one to blame - large project with 6-digit LOC, already 4-digit warning number and these things goes by unnoticed easily. Especially if you are merging something.
So, there you go. Commit Warning Checker. My way of fighting warnings. Hope you like it. And, more then that - hope you will be using it.
